Dear APWA Member,

This is the open call for nominations for 2026 officers and 2026-2027 Board Members for the APWA WA Chapter. This notice provides an opportunity for the Chapter membership to nominate for all positions by petition. To nominate by petition, it is necessary to get permission from the candidate and submit – on or before July 31, 2025 – the candidate’s name and a petition with signatures of at least seven Chapter members supporting the nomination to: Chapter Past President, Tara Davis, taradavis4315@gmail.com. Questions should also be directed to Tara.

Nominations will be accepted from June 24 – July 31, 2025.

Online voting will open August 15 – September 23, 2025.

Positions Open for Nomination:

2026 Secretary 
The winning Secretary candidate, chosen by popular vote, will serve on the Board in succeeding roles from Secretary to President starting their duties as Secretary next year.

4 Member Positions for the 2026-27 Board 
Choose four members to serve on the Board of Directors for two year terms. At least one director will be elected to represent that portion of Washington State east of the Cascade Mountains and at least one director will be elected to represent the private sector. (The eastern Washington and private sector candidates, respectively, with the highest numbers of votes will be elected.) Among the remaining candidates, the two nominees with the highest numbers of votes will be elected to the other two Board positions.

The following candidates are currently serving as Officers and are proposed as succeeding to the next Officer role as shown below. If you wish to propose another candidate to replace them, you may send in a petition.
• President: Jim Rioux, PMP, Project Manager, Public Works Engineering, City of Olympia
• Vice President: Caroline Barlow, PE, CMOM Program Manager, Seattle Public Utilities
• Treasurer: Justin Matthews, PE, Principal / Transportation Project Manager, KPFF Consulting Engineers
