Bio:

I’m excited for the opportunity to serve as a board member for APWA. Having been involved with APWA for most of my career, I have had a chance to get to know most of you and recognize the value that APWA brings to its members—and I want to help make APWA the organization of choice for the public works community. Currently, I serve as the committee chair for the Marketing and Public Works Outreach Committee, where we work in conjunction with other APWA chapter committees and partner with other Washington associations to increase membership and participation in APWA, boost public awareness of public works, and encourage public works careers. Also, I am serving as the Conference Exhibitor chair, where I get to coordinate the two annual conferences by overseeing each step of the process from draping booths to ensuring the exhibitors in each booth have what they need after set-up. In 2023, I was honored by APWA at the Night of Excellence Awards and received the Committee in Action Award. Over the past 20 years, I have held various positions within marketing for professional consulting companies. My experience has ranged from marketing assistant to marketing manager. I have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. For many years I served as a board member for the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS)—a marketing organization for the architectural, engineering, and construction industry—where the board member positions I held ranged from secretary, treasurer (six years), president-elect, president, and past-president, as well as other roles including roundtable facilitator, chapter ambassador, and mentor. With the combination of my years of experience working in public works and my leadership as a past president and board member of a partnering organization, I believe I would bring the following unique benefits to APWA—1) a diverse, fresh perspective, 2) enthusiasm and energy to explore ideas, topics, and activities, and 3) accountability to APWA’s goals, reputation, and successes.
