Hiring Veterans Outreach Resources

Local Free Resources

While it can be overwhelming to know where to start recruiting and hiring transitioning military service members, there are several pathways to help your organization engage veterans about employment opportunities.

To learn more about how to reach military service members and their spouses seeking public works opportunities, contact APWA Veterans Committee members Dale Clark at dale.clark@turntown.com or Jen Tetatzin at jen@tetatzin.com

For employers DOD SkillBridge provides access to highly trained military service members at no cost. Service members continue to receive their military compensation while civilian industry partners provide training and work experience. This provides service members an opportunity to work for civilian employers to acquire training, apprenticeships, or internships during their last 180 days of service.
