Short Description: The City of Port Townsend is recruiting to fill one vacancy for a Public Works Plans Reviewer/Inspector, at the I, II, or III level depending on qualifications, to perform a variety of tasks supporting the Public Works Department in the review of community development plans, inspection of capital projects and community development, right-of-way management, code enforcement, and other technical support for construction of engineering projects and implementation of standards.

Minimum qualifications for level I:
– High school diploma or GED
– Three years’ experience performing construction-related work or inspection in related fields.
– Demonstrated proficiency in computer operating systems.
– Valid Washington State Driver’s License and ability to maintain a driving record acceptable to the City’s insurance carrier.
PW Plans Reviewer/Inspector I pay range: $34.04-38.52 hourly base pay ($34.04-43.14 including maximum potential longevity pay)
PW Plans Reviewer/Inspector II pay range: $37.55-42.67 hourly base pay ($37.55-47.79 including maximum potential longevity pay)
PW Plans Reviewer/Inspector III pay range: $39.18-44.50 base pay ($39.18-49.84 with maximum potential longevity)
This position may be eligible for the following additional compensation:
– Longevity pay on a graduated schedule starting at 2% after 5 years, up to 12% after 25 years
– Remote plant operations pay
– Emergency response pay
– Phone-watch pay
– Overtime pay or compensatory time
– Premium pay or compensatory time
– Jury duty pay at regular rate during service
– Call-back pay
