Bio:

22-year career as a transportation design professional has given me a passion for improving the outcomes of both individuals and organizations in the field of public works.  Since starting at KPFF as a design engineer, I’ve had the opportunity to grow into project management roles delivering transportation projects throughout the state of Washington. These projects have ranged from local agency roadway and active transportation projects to light rail and bus transit expansion projects.

Education and networking over the past 15 years of membership in the APWA Washington state chapter has contributed significantly to my career.  Since starting out on the scholarship committee in 2010, I’ve remained dedicated to helping continue that program and the associated fundraising efforts that support the Jack Pittis Memorial Scholarship endowment. We continue to give scholarships to university and community college students in the state of Washington interested in public works careers.

The scholarship committee has recently been rolled into the Student Outreach Network, where I’m serving as the co-chair.  In addition to the scholarships, we look for other opportunities to engage with students, our future of public works.  That includes starting and maintaining student chapters.  As we come out of the pandemic we have a renewed focus on identifying and participating in more engagement opportunities with students.   The past two years I have served as the liaison to the UW APWA student chapter.  It has been rewarding to be able to interface with students and encourage career paths in public works, showing them job opportunities that can make such a difference in our communities.
