Synopsis

Join the Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) for this session focused on current practices in implementing AURs, including topics such as contracting agency requirements and responsibilities, Apprentice Utilization Plans, Good Faith Efforts, and monetary penalties.  This session will also provide an overview of the associated Prevailing Wage Intents and Affidavits (PWIA) system and reporting related to AURs.

Jim Kaltenbaugh
Apprentice Utilization Requirements Specialist

Jim Kaltenbaugh has worked in the Apprenticeship section at L&I since 2017. He has filled the position of Apprentice Utilization Requirements (AUR) Specialist since it was created in 2019. Jim and his team are responsible for verifying AUR compliance on projects involving state agencies, school districts, four-year institutions of higher education, and municipalities, as well as providing training and consultation to affected contracting agencies and contractors.

 

Sean Anderson
IT Business Analyst
Department of Labor and Industries

Sean Anderson started working for the Department of Labor & Industries in 2007 and has spent the majority of his time in the Prevailing Wage Program supporting both the contractor and awarding agency portals. Sean also had a role in helping to update Washington State’s prevailing wage rates through surveys and the twice annual wage publication. Currently, Sean is a business analyst supporting both the Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship suite of IT systems.
