Bio:
I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up until I found a career in public works. When I entered the field in 2005, I found something that I could be truly passionate about and I have worked in public works for 16 years in a variety positions in the private and public sectors.
That passion has continued in my work with APWA. I have been active in the Washington Chapter since 2007 when I joined the Scholarship committee. I served as a board member in 2012/2013 and during that time helped found the Diversity and Emerging Professionals committees. In 2012, I was honored to be awarded Young Leader of the Year by the Washington Chapter and received the National Young Leader Award in 2017.
In 2013 and 2014, I had the privilege of participating in the National APWA Emerging Leaders Academy and through this program helped to establish the Student Outreach Network as a National sub-committee and a Washington Chapter committee. Working with the Student Outreach Network is the most rewarding thing I get to do with APWA. Through this committee, I get to talk to students about the awesome careers awaiting them in public works and share with them all the amazing benefits of APWA membership.
