Bio:

I’ve been a member of APWA for the past eight years, but it’s over the last three that I’ve truly become active in the organization, especially at the chapter level. Shifting from passive membership to engaged participation opened my eyes to the incredible benefits our local chapter offers: mentorship, educational sessions, networking, and resource sharing. I’m excited for the opportunity to give back and support others as they grow in the public works profession. At the state level, I’ve been involved in our Chapter’s Mentorship Program for the past few years. I started as a mentee, which was incredibly valuable for my professional growth. This led me to participating in a mentorship role and joining the mentorship committee. It’s been rewarding to experience both sides of the relationship, receiving guidance that helped advance my career and now being able to offer that same support to others. Nationally, I’ve been fortunate to graduate from the 2023–2024 national Emerging Leaders Academy, where I collaborated with public works professionals from across the country to develop leadership skills, complete a group capstone project, and advocate for innovation in local government. That experience reinforced my belief in the power of peer learning and the importance of building strong, resilient communities through service and collaboration. It is truly a highlight of my involvement with APWA as an organization to date. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Washington State University in 2014 and began my career in public works with SCJ Alliance as a design engineer. After four years, I transitioned into local government, joining the City of Wenatchee as a Project Engineer, and most recently served for two years as the City’s Engineering Services Manager. In that role, I led an exceptional team of engineers delivering capital improvement projects ranging from $250K to over $100M, from neighborhood street improvements to major regional infrastructure initiatives. I am excited to have recently returned to SCJ Alliance in their Wenatchee office, where I now serve as a Project Manager, bringing both consulting and municipal leadership experience to my work with clients. Beyond my professional role, I’m deeply invested in my community. I serve on the City of Wenatchee’s Arts, Recreation, and Parks Commission and Chair the Wenatchee Valley Sports Foundation—supporting regional events and programs that help make our community vibrant, active, and inclusive. I look forward to continuing my involvement with APWA and contributing to the Chapter’s growth, mentorship efforts, and commitment to excellence.
