Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the resilience and effectiveness of public works during a crisis. EAM involves the systematic planning, acquisition, operation, maintenance, and disposal of various types of physical assets to achieve organizational objectives effectively and efficiently. Assets encompass a wide range of structures, facilities, equipment, and technologies inventoried in GIS, CAD, SCADA that contribute to the delivery of essential services to the community. Below are few take-aways from our numerous implementations across United States that underscore the importance of EAM tools, and its criticality in emergency response.
